Can I watch my student present without paying for the event?
Paper presentations are open to the public.

Project presentations are clcosed during judging (both Morning and Afternoon Judging). The Project Exhibit Hall will be open to the public late Saturday afternoon for you to observe all students.




Do I need to buy the full registration package?
Parents can opt to buy the full Registration Package, an Activites Only package or just buy Tickets for specific Meals, or opt not to participate in any paid events.

The Full Registration package costs $120 and includes:

  • Full access to all activities
  • Two workshops: ''Take the Pain out of SRC Forms'' by Dr. Jenny Hugstad-Vaa, State SRC Chair and ''The Importance of Using Statistics in Science Fair Projects'' by Dr. Chris Malone, Professor of Statistics & Mathematics, Winona State University
  • 2 Buffet meals and 1 full breakfast
  • Opening Ceremony with speaker
  • Special Awards Ceremony with speaker
  • Grand Awards ceremony with speaker
  • Program booklet
  • Registration bag of items

    The Activites package costs $45 for adults and $30 for students 11 and under. It includes: Saturday, March 27 - 3M Wizards interactive demonstrations and Mad Scientists interactive demonstrations. The two workshops are: ''Take the Pain out of SRC Forms'' by Dr. Jenny Hugstad-Vaa, State SRC Chair and ''The Importance of Using Statistics in Science Fair Projects'' by Dr. Chris Malone, Professor of Statistics & Mathematics, Winona State University

    If you would prefer to go the "banquets only" option, you can buy tickets to any or all of these:

  • Meal Only Fair - Friday Night - $35 - Friday, March 26 Pasta Buffet with Opening Ceremony/Speaker


  • Meal Only Fair - Saturday Breakfast - $20 - Saturday, March 27 Student/Adult breakfast/Orientation of day


  • Meal Only Fair - Sunday Brunch - $35 - Sunday, March 28 Breakfast Buffet/Grand Awards/Speaker



  • If you prefer to get meals on your own, you can attend the following events for free:

  • Saturday, March 27 = Exhibit area – 4:00-5:30pm - Walk through project board display area and listen to students tell you about their research.


  • Saturday, March 27 7:30pm - Government/Special Awards ceremony with speaker - Standing room only.


  • To participate in meals, workshops, or activities, all individuals and families must purchase full registration, or meal packages or activity packages for entry to the State Science & Engineering Fair.

    If a parent or guardian will not be participating in any activities or meals, they should still register and chose the No Participation option OR they can help by Volunteering at the event.


    PARTICIPANTS - WEAR YOUR NAME BADGES AT ALL TIMES.


    Due to space limitations - All badges will be checked for entry to all activities and meals.
